Romans 8:28 “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” NIV
I was reflecting on how, as Christ followers, God is always working on our behalf. He brings all the right people into our lives at just the right time. Although there are many examples, here are two of them from my own life:
1) During the darkest time of my life up to that point, during my divorce, I went to counseling and family counseling. In addition, God was putting people in my life who were showing me the love of God. After two or three years, I wanted to throw a thank you party for all the people who made me feel like I could call them even in the middle of the night (I never did that, but it was comforting to believe that I could). I made a list and then started to weep with gratitude. There were 75 people on that list! It was humbling to realize that God touched the hearts of all those people to want to help me. Amazing grace!
2) When my second husband proposed, we didn’t know how we would pay for a wedding, since he had no money and I was in debt. We prayed about it and God rearranged all the necessary players to make our wedding a reality. I had a business at a mall. Just before John proposed, the mall manager received an offer she couldn’t refuse and moved to another state. The assistant manager took her place. Then the lady that coordinated activities in the mall decided to move back up north, so her assistant took over her duties. The new mall manager and activities director are the ones who organized our wedding and encouraged all the participating merchants to donate their services for our wedding. The event was an incredible miracle. I have written a booklet about it called “Mall Order Bride”. You can hear the podcast of it on this website – yoursuccessadvocate.com
If you don’t see the fulfillment of your prayers in your timing, don’t lose heart. Trust that God is working on it. Remember that we all have free will and sometimes things take longer because most of us want to do things our way and are not ready or maybe not willing to let God work in us and through us. Fortunately, God has His ways, which are higher than ours and we can trust in that.
God Bless!
